GIZ Albania
GIZ is an experienced service provider and assists the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation. GIZ offers demand-driven, tailor-made and effective services for sustainable development.
The German development cooperation has taken the lead role among donors for below sectors:
- agriculture (with EU Delegation),
- water,
- energy (with World Bank),
- waste
To support donor coordination in those sectors, GIZ, in close cooperation with the German Embassy and KfW seeks the following staff: Assistant – Donor Coordination (50%)
Responsibilities
The assistant-donor coordination is responsible for:
- Ensuring that the secretariat runs smoothly
- Good communication flow, particularly with the Head of Cooperation at the German Embassy
- Daily operational performance of all administrative tasks
- Filing documents in reference files or in DMS in line with GIZ’s filing rules
The Assistant-Donor Coordination performs the following tasks:
- Tasks
- Secretariat work, Office management and general coordination
The assistant-donor coordination
- Updates and maintains address lists
- Formats, updates and maintains donor-matrix
- Organizes donor round table discussions (venue, catering, invitations, reminders, follow-up mails)
- Distributes attendance lists, compiles meeting minutes
- Proactively checks with other donors, whether they have information that should be shared with everyone
- Organises a field trip/study tour (approximately once per annum) on a sector-related topic and/or social event (end-of-year dinner, )
- Participates at sector meetings (approximately once per month) between Embassy /GIZ / KfW and drafts minutes
- Processes sector information: g. creates overview on where German DC (+ potential other donors) is active in ALB in the sector; provides brief summaries of studies, policy briefs, etc.
- interprets and translates as required
- Does a press monitoring on the respective sectors
The incumbent will work closely with the Head of Development Cooperation at the German em- bassy.
Required qualifications, competences and experience
- Excellent working knowledge of MS products, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- At least 2 (two) years of working experience in similar position
- Fluency in written and spoken English, German language would be an asset
- Able to work in a team as well as independently
- Enjoys communication and organisation
- Excellent social and communications skills
Contract conditions:
- Part-time employment (50%)
- Programme office in Tirana
- Assigment period: 2 Years
